GRÈN SÉMÉ

Reunion Island

Grèn Sémé is an evolving Maloya quintet. Centered around the signature poetic and socially engaged lyrics of Carlo De Sacco, their songwriting—mainly in Creole—takes listeners on a journey through a global musical village, blending electronic Maloya and African pop on a ternary base driven by the rhythms of the Indian Ocean (Maloya-Sega-Salegy). To date, the band has released three albums: Grèn Sémé (2013), Hors Sol (2016), and Zamroza (2022). They have just released a new EP, Maloya Gazé, which reveals the group’s sunlit side with a danceable, revitalizing, and organic sound, perfect for remixes and the dancefloor.
