PIX’L
Author, composer, and performer, Pix’L is an iconic figure on the Réunion Island music scene.
Originating from the west coast of the island, he is the product of a culturally rich heritage, with a Mauritian father and a Réunionnais mother who instilled in him, from a young age, a deep love for music.
Immersed in the sounds of jazz, soul, and rhythm & blues, Pix’L found his calling in singing, guided by his father, who taught him this art at an early age. Music quickly became much more than a passion—it established itself as his sanctuary, his language, and his soulmate.
As a teenager, Pix’L dove into hip-hop culture and began writing his first lyrics, inspired by icons such as Eminem and Cypress Hill. These influences shaped his early years and sparked a burgeoning creativity.
At just 11 years old, a turning point in his life occurred: he left his hometown of Le Port and moved to La Plaine des Cafres, in the higher altitudes of the southern part of the island. This drastic change in environment opened him up to a new musical world. There, he discovered reggae, a culture that immediately won him over, and developed a deep love for dancehall and the vibrations of Jamaica.
As the years went by, Pix’L, armed with his early lyrics and raw talent, built his musical universe away from the spotlight. Hours spent in the studio and performing on local stages allowed him to gradually establish himself as a reference in the underground music scene of Réunion Island.
In 2013, his first major hit, “Alé Où”, marked a turning point in his career. This flagship song catapulted him to the forefront of the local scene and eventually the national stage, revealing an artist with a deep voice and captivating melodies.
In 2023, Pix’L celebrated a major milestone: 10 years of a flourishing career, marked by collaborations, shared experiences, and an unbreakable connection with his audience. Affectionately known as “Mr. 2 Seasons”, he won hearts with albums like “Nouve au départ” and “Empreinte”, blending poetry and authenticity into every note.
His song “Pou Ou Entann’”, a true love anthem, left a lasting impression and became a musical phenomenon in Réunion. But Pix’L is far from done: in 2025, he promises an ambitious new project that will enrich his discography and reaffirm his place as a leading force in Réunion music.
One thing is certain: the story of Pix’L continues to unfold with passion and intensity.
